Rental cars are another option once you cross. Since a lot of Americans cross the every day to the city, it’s tourist-friendly so you will have any rental service available, and as a tip just make sure to book a car previously from your arrival.
By Car
If you want to do it yourself without the hassle of renting cars or walking across the border, you can drive from San Diego all the way to Rosarito. If there’s no traffic it can take you an hour and a half. There are gas stations everywhere along the road, but you can plan your trip even better if you get your traffic app (Google Maps, Waze, etc.) to show you the quickest way.
Tijuana is known for its great food so if you’re not in a hurry you can Google some nearby places to eat and we’re pretty sure you’re going to enjoy it.
