Adverse Reaction

Baja Rehab » Adverse Reaction

We define an adverse drug reaction as “an appreciably harmful or unpleasant reaction, resulting from an intervention related to the use of a medicinal product, which predicts hazard from future administration and warrants prevention or specific treatment, or alteration of the dosage regimen, or withdrawal of the product.”

Such reactions are currently reported by use of WHO’s Adverse Reaction Terminology, which will eventually become a subset of the International Classification of Diseases. Adverse drug reactions are classified into six types (with mnemonics): dose-related (Augmented), non-dose-related (Bizarre), dose-related and time-related (Chronic), time-related (Delayed), withdrawal (End of use), and failure of therapy (Failure).

Timing, the pattern of illness, the results of investigations, and rechallenges can help attribute causality to a suspected adverse drug reaction.

Management includes the withdrawal of the drug if possible and specific treatment of its effects. Suspected adverse drug reactions should be reported. Surveillance methods can detect reactions and prove associations.

Get the Help You or Your Loved One Needs Today

Care at Baja Rehab is personalized and focused. Founders Adam Lincoln, Jessica Shrader, and Ricardo Vega have implemented the most personal and therapeutic processes while achieving activities they have modeled based on years of recovery at the best treatment centers in the U.S. and in Mexico. The result is the clinical treatment of addiction that rivals the best centers in the world at a fraction of the cost. For that reason, we are a preferred destination for people who know someone that needs help, or who has experienced a relapse, so they can get their life back in an inexpensive and extremely effective program of recovery. Many have experienced a friend, a family member, or even themselves in a situation where they needed help and didn’t get it with the thought of high-cost private clinics, no insurance, or low-grade government-funded rehabilitation centers in the worst of conditions. We can help.
